    Tadd Dameron, we grew up sort of together, in schools and things. Tadd would say, "Come on and sit in" on the piano stool with him. I'd sit down. He'd say, "Sing - let's get the key" for such and such a number that he'd want to play for me. If I knew it, he'd play it and I'd sing it.
