Lucinda Childs gives final directives to Per Biorn (far right), the engineer who built the ground effect machine under discussion. It permits a dancer literally to float on a cushion of air with no physical exertion and is one of the few pieces of technical equipment which will be visible to audicences of 9 Evenings. Also pictured: Alphonse Schilling (left) and Alex Hay (second from right)
