     Johnny Garrett came to the Cafe as a valet for us, where he pushed the piano on and off. He learned a great deal while he was there and he went out with Sarah Vaughan helped make her great. He's a terrific man. He just watched and he learned through watching and he became a great manager. Through him and Sarah Vaughan's husband and the pianist, they really brought her out in good style to the public.
