I wanted to ask you another question that kind of moves in with that concept too. And that is, you know, the difference between what we call oral culture and literate culture. Now literate culture of course means that you learn how to read notes and rhythms, and you learn how to write music down on paper. But jazz has always superseded what's on the page.
