    The other interesting thing on this composition is that - why is Cannery Row so incredibly effective? It's because Dave uses minimalist writing which all came from the octet. The hardest damn thing in working on the octet music is there's no place to hide. Just the Way You [inaudible], You've got this counterpoint between alto and trumpet.
