Actually I wrote this in a book which was edited by David Baker. I was asked to make some suggestions as to where jazz could go. In education, where I'd like to see jazz go, I would like for people to recognize the intrinsic value of the music and to use it. Because it is like an ostrich to have your head in the sand and not realize that jazz has been the most pervasive music of this century. ...
