Seems to be a waste of time if that is why you played it, right? Eldridge: Well, no...they did or something. If you don't play that you ain't playing nothing. I wasn't able to come back here til... record to me that I made with Charlie Parker... those cats he was playing...at that time...But I played the way I played, I don't try to play like they play.
