    . . . very well disciplined, because, for one thing, there were certain rules laid down for you. You had to follow those rules. For example, if I went out, I had to be back in the house before dark and I couldn't go off of my block, the block that I lived on. I could go from one corner to the other, but I wasn't supposed to cross the street.
