I used to write without the piano. I wrote a lot of the arrangements, after I wrote for Buddy Johnson I wrote for Lionel Hampton and I wrote for Maynard Ferguson. And a lot of the arrangements I wrote for Maynard Ferguson I wrote without the piano. And those are recorded things. I was a young guy, you know, I had the energy that it takes to actually do that.
