They did. I can go back to 1966 with Herbie Mann, and then I went back to Japan a little later in that year with a special drum tour that had Art Blakey, Elvin Jones, Tony Williams, McCoy Tyner, Ben Tucker played bass, Wayne Shorter and myself.
