Richard Habersham-Bey: My family had always been in business. As a kid my mother and father had a grocery store in Bed-Stuy at Patchen and Jefferson Avenue in the 40s, right after the war, and we also bought a trucking business that my family was involved with. That was in the 40s. I took my father’s business over when I came out of Michigan State, in 1957.
